ALL YOUR BRAND ARE BELONG TO US March 07 2001 Inspired by the All Your Brand site, I decided to try some culture jamming of my own with the Photoshopped ads you see below. To fully get what little of a joke lies behind the ads, you will have to have seen the 'All Your Base Are Belong To Us' meme which has been going around the Internet over the past few weeks. It derives from a computer game, badly translated from the original Japanese via a feeble stab at English. There's a slight xenophobia about the meme's humour which is a little worrying, but that's not what I was trying to debate in this instance. Expressions from the game, such as "All Your Base..." but also "Someone Set Us Up The Bomb" are essentially meaningless but nonetheless funny and easily adapted as slogans for websites and so on. Hence why the meme has been particularly virulent.
