HUBBARD IN THE CUPBOARD
musicbank.net
Things aren't going too well for Microsoft at the moment. With various legal actions still running against them in the States, a new crisis hit recently in Germany.
Windows 2000 comes bundled with Executive Software's Diskeeper software, a defragmentation program. But Executive Inc's CEO is a member of L Ron Hubbard's weird Church of Scientology, and when recruiting in Hamburg, Germany, he placed adverts for staff requesting: "Fully trained scientologists, computer skills desirable but not a prerequisite".
This revelation has caused alarm among customers worried that an application such as Diskeeper could access personal, corporate and governmental data and feed it back to the Scientologists. And as if things couldn't get any worse, someone at Bill Gates' fortress "accidentally" sent News.com a confidential document detailing Microsoft's forthcoming foray into wireless data.
