Metallica Sued By Fan?

musicbank.net

A news story in Wired, fittingly available in the form of an MP3 spoken word file, alleges that Metallica are due to be sued by one of the banned Napster fans.

A few weeks ago the band listed 300,000 Napster users who they claimed had been swapping their tracks online. The humiliation of it all! 300,000 people still like Metallica? What is the world coming to?

Anyway, one of the blocked users is reportedly suing the rockers and / or their investigators NetPD for invasion of privacy. Unfortunately the case will probably be thrown out of court, so great is the pressure the American music industry is placing upon Napster.

But the kid has a point; the thought of being spied upon by your favourite band is very scary. This must be the first time that Metallica have taken so much interest in their fans.
