HOORAY FOR THE UNDERDOGS

The hackerz among us will be glad to discover that Sony have lost their case against Connectix, makers of the Virtual Game Station, an application that enables Mac users to use Playstation games on their computer.

Rumour has it that Sony were most annoyed because the original Game Station software didn't work too well; however, the court disagreed that Connectix's programming had in any way tarnished the Sony PlayStation mark.

The ruling sets a very promising precedent, protecting reverse engineering and preventing companies such as Sony from monopolising the market for game-playing devices. That'll teach 'em!
