PHOTOGRAPHS FROM MAY DAY, LONDON May 05 2001 read my related report from the protests... Upon my arrival into the West End, the first thing I noticed was how many police had been mobilised, especially in comparison with how few protesters were initially apparent. This shot shows the first major demonstration I witnessed, of about thirty people with banners and shouting slogans, at the Haymarket.
