Formerly singer and songwriter of top 30 Virgin Records band Catch, tobyslater went on to distribute his music independently on the Web, becoming one of the few artists officially promoted by Napster as part of its "Featured Music Program". Forthcoming single Consumption, a Tip Sheet unsigned Record of the Week, is mixed by Mark "Spike" Stent (U2, Madonna) and has gained play on Radio One and SBN in the UK as well as KROX, WOXY and DMX in the USA, with the accompanying video viewed over 90,000 times.
tobyslater and his band recently played the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas and was touted as "Smart, hook-heavy songwriting...that rings emotionally true" by Pop Culture Press and "Emotive rock with a tortured sound" by the American Statesman.
